Why Girl Camp?
Girl Camp was born out of a desire to bring women together for the sole purposes of play, connection and community. As women, we have so much on our shoulders as we are raising children, building careers, and nurturing relationships with our partner and family. But many of us are doing this in isolation, without our tribe to support us, leaving us loney, exhausted and longing for something more.

Girl Camp is a time to place all of those heavy responsibilities on pause and go back to the basics of life for a few days: play, joy, friendship, and community. We will eat fun and quality meals together. We will have activities and play time for all levels of mobility. We will enjoy experiences of togetherness while also honoring time for rest and refreshment.

Our goal for Girl Camp is to connect you to a simpler time in your life, before it all got heavy and serious, where play was the only language you spoke, and making friendships was the easiest and fun thing you could do all day. We all have that fiery, passionate and fierce little one inside of us, longing to play and connect with others. Girl Camp gives both of you the opportunity to experience that again.

Who Am I?
Hi, I'm Candace Grahl, a licensed and trauma-trained therapist in Nashville, TN. I have spent most of my adult life working with women and walking them through difficult seasons. After 2020 and the resulting stress of the pandemic, I began to see amazing, talented, and formerly outgoing women struggle to find their footing again. Reaching out to their community became increasingly difficult, and resulted in deeper feelings of anxiety, depression, and disconnection.

Sitting with them in their suffering was part of the job. However, what they needed more than me was each other. I could be a listening ear and a lifeline in that moment: what they truly needed in their life was their tribe.

Girl Camp is all about relationship: with ourselves, and with each other. Research has shown that physically painful experiences feel less so when we experience them with a trusted other by our side. Being human is hard, and we cannot do this alone. We were never meant to. Community is available to you, so what are you waiting for?
